Having used the Open Jump for a few days now I am very impressed, especially for the price so I thought I would share my experience so far.
For those you have never used this type of "open ear" headphone - it actually sits outside your ear and has effectively a 'little speaker' which does not touch your ear at all but directs the sound into your eardrum. I have attached a picture of it and you will see it is very different than a normal TWS or IEM. This makes it incredible comfortable for those you don't like anything in their ears. I left it in my ear during a full working day and I completely forgot I was wearing it.
But because everyones ears shape is different and therefore it will sit either nearer or further away from your eardrum depending on the size of your ears, it is vital for good sound to use the "My Sound Profile" feature within the EarFun App. This process takes you through a sort of "listening" tests but once you do this you get an excellent sounding TWS.
The nice thing is once I created this custom profile, I can hear my music very clearly (I will get into my sound impressions in a second) but nobody around me can hear anything yet I can hear conversations going on around me clearly ( which is important in my day job when in a shared office ). Obviously this type of earphone is designed for runners / bicyclists who need to hear everything around them clearly but it will work well if you have to stay connected to those around you but still want to enjoy listening to music (or listening to podcasts).
Audio wise, they have some excellent midrange and pretty decent treble and while the bass does roll off (which is to be expected with such a open design) but you do get reasonably nice mid-bass, so most bass heavy tracks will still sound reasonable. Overall I found the sound profile to be more than acceptable, though obviously since it is designed to allow you to hear everything around you, you won't get any sound "isolation" so if you are in a noisy environment this is probably not the audio device to be using.
I also measured the Open Jump and I have shared a measurement of how it looks compared to "Harman" using "my custom profile" and this graph shows that excellent midrange and treble but does also shows that bass roll-off. I did try some extra EQ to boost the bass but I felt that was causing some "distortion" as the little "speaker" was struggling but depending on your ear shape that might work well.
The battery life has also been outstanding as I mentioned I left it on all day in work and switched between music and going on some work calls and it lasted a full 8 hours. The microphone quality also was pretty impressive especially indoors (though I did go for a walk and it worked fine until it got a bit windy).
So, overall I think it is a fantastic device and one which I will be using most days when I am in a shared space and need to continuously talk too and listen to my colleagues. Show Full Review

Good headphones for their purpose By Jaminist Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 January 2025

I got these because I like to cycle and find that in ear buds don't always stay secure. These aren't designed to go in the ear but to sit over them. They are headphones not earbuds.
They can take a little adjustment so they sit 'right' This can be achieved by bending the tube material and holding it for 12 seconds so that it retains its place. This made a huge difference to the volume and tone of these and is well worth doing.
I set them up in the brilliant Earfun app and configured the EQ to my tastes (You also get tons of presets). They have a nice tone and stayed secured to my ears for the 8 mile bike ride. These don't have noise cancelling so I felt safe wearing them whilst riding as I could hear the traffic around me. Sound quality was pretty good and I could hear the finer details in songs. Bass was good and I could really push the deepness if I wanted. Higher frequencies were very clear.
The app allows you to do things like customise controls, turn on theatre mode or game mode, switch on Dual device connection, set the time before they shutdown and send a tone to them to find them if you've mislaid them. You will also get firmware updates through the app which are always worth installing as Earfun are very pro-active at updating things.
They charge quickly and in the time I was wearing them I'd hardly made a dent in the battery usage. You can get 2 hours use with only 10 minutes of charging.
Overall, once I'd adjusted them correctly, (It's worth watching Earfun's videos on how to do this) I found that I enjoyed wearing them and forgot about them whilst out and about doing more sporty activities which is what they are designed for. Show Full Review
